Research
The Altman laboratory is focused on (1) developing new fluorination reactions that can be employed for preparing biological probes and therapeutic candidates; (2) exploring physicochemical and biophysical perturbations imparted by fluorinated substructures, particularly within the context of neurotherapeutics; (3) studying the metabolism of tryptophan and its role in the immune response to various cancers; (4) developing small molecule adjuvants that overcome bacterial resistance to antibiotics.
