Medicinal Chemistry Department Fund

Private contributions really do make a difference to our program. Contributions to the Department of Medicinal Chemistry fill in where state funds either are not available or cannot be used and they allow us to react in a timely manner to special needs as they arise. These funds are especially helpful in the critical area of graduate recruiting.

The Department of Medicinal Chemistry consists of faculty involved in the following research programs that cover an unusually broad range of scientific interests, including: enzyme inhibition; the discovery and isolation of novel anti-tumor, antibiotic, and antiviral molecules; combinatorial chemistry; drug metabolism and toxicology; computer-aided drug design; organic synthesis; stereochemistry and its relation to biological problems; peptide structure and function; amino acid chemistry; natural product chemistry and neurochemistry. For more details about each faculty member's research and their groups, see the individual faculty pages on this web site.
